Amazonite Hardness: 6 – 6.5 Mineral Class: Feldspar Amazonite is a translucent to opaque feldspar gemstone with a pale green colour. Contrary to popular belief, Amazonite is only named after the Amazon River of South America however there are no Amazonite deposits that exist in the Amazon region. The stone is named to its resemblance in colour to the green of the tropical rainforest. Amazonite stone is also referred to as a Stone of Truth and Stone of Courage as it is empowering, facilitating self-discovery, self-awareness and the ability to embrace one’s own integrity and truths.
